As in any other part of Greece, stray dogs and cats are still a problem on Samos. They mostly live in the mountains close to the villages or army camps, in summertime they usually come down to the major touristic areas to search for food. Many of these animals carry diseases or are otherwise ill. So, especially in wintertime, when attention of tourists is missing and food is running short, most of these animals lead a dangerous and miserable life. Our task on Samos include: collecting straydogs from the streets - Basic first aid for the dogs - Improvement/renovation of the shelter - Find new homes for our inmates - Basic first aid for stray cats - Organising spaying/neutering campaigns.
